Will The New Alice In Wonderland Movie Top The Box Office Hits?

Have you heard the buzz about the new Tim Burton bazaar but entertaining movie, “Alice In Wonderland”, that is in the works right now? It is in production and is projected to be one of his best films ever made.

We are all anxious to see any bit of footage of this 3-D adaptation even though they are still making the movie so Tim is working on a semi-trailer that will give us a glimpse into the bazaar world of Alice and all the other characters.

The semi-trailer is a difficult task as well because Tim’s team is still shooting the movie live. As Tim explains, “It is a technological challenge of blurring the lines between live-action, motion-capture and animation which is proving to be a massive undertaking. It’s a real mysterious puzzle that is frightening and exciting at the same time.”

If you are new to the bazaar but entertaining films of this very creative director, you may remember some of his productions like Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, Sweeney Todd, Corpse Bride, Beetle Juice, Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow, Batman Returns and The Nightmare Before Christmas to name a few.

Alice In Wonderland will be another one of Tim’s ingenious recreations of fantasy and animation mixed with a cinema of color and graphics all colliding together in a very entertaining 3-D motion picture film that will have you talking about it for many years.

The infamous Alice, played by Australian actress Mia Wasikowska, is now 17 and lands at a boring high society party on a Victorian estate to which she cannot wait to leave. So she wanders off only to be confronted by the White Rabbit played by actor Michael Sheen, who whisks her away to the fantasy land of Wonderland.

Although Wonderland is wonderful to a certain degree, it is ruled by the evil Red Queen of Hearts, played by actress and Burton’s fianc, Helena Bonham Carter, whose favorite retort is “off with their heads!” She overthrows the good sister, The White Queen, played by Anne Hathaway.

There are some dark spins on this movie that only Burton himself can conjure up, like the evil Red Queen’s moat filled with bloody heads. But it all adds to the suspense, thrill, fun and entertainment this classic movie will offer.

You will see a visually surreal interpretation of huge, colorful and chatty flowers that take their cue from the talkative trees in the Wizard of Oz in a garden of topiaries in the shape of a giraffe, butterfly and dodo, taken from Burton’s, Edward Scissorhands.

Burton will take you through a surreal forest of giant mushrooms and you will meet a giant Caterpillar, played by actor Alan Rickman, and hold on as you encounter the fierce Jabberwock played by actor Christopher Lee.

The colorful Mad Hatter, played by Burton’s long time friend, Johnny Depp, takes a different road by bringing a deeper, funnier character, rooted in humanity to some degree besides being just plain nuts as Burton describes.

Tune in to watch Alice overcome major hurdles to help her friends reclaim their world back from the evil Red Queen due is theaters March 5, 2010.
