Do you know anyone these days who doesn’t have a cell phone? It’s increasingly rare to find someone without one. Even young kids have them these days! What used to be seen as an expensive luxury gadget has rapidly become a necessity of modern life.
We use cell phones to communicate of course. There are several recent models of cell phones, however, that have other functions like music, Internet access, and mobile games. Some even have global positioning, or GPS, as one of the functions. You can actually get a cell phone with so many features you won’t need a separate mp3 player or GPS!
Here’s some irony. The cell phone industry has had to contend with users being so fixated on “extra features” these days that the real value of its use as a phone is underrated.
It was not all that long ago that cell phones were expensive, and widely considered to be a luxury. They were anything but affordable for most people. However, prices have come down quite a bit. Increased demand translates to increased supply, which means that phones become less expensive.
Today we live a fast-paced life. Being able to reach your loved ones quickly and stay in contact with business associates is very valuable. You can pretty much communicate with anyone you need to reach, as soon as you need to reach them.
Those who follow fashion and trend can pick the right style and design for them. They can express their individuality even with their cell phone.
Most of the cell phones that are sold today are more than just phones. It’s very likely you will be getting a phone that also does things like access the Internet, play music, take photos and so on.
Sometimes someone stubborn will refuse to get themselves a cell phone. This is getting to be more and more rare, however. The devices are now so reasonable, and can do so much, that it’s hard to imagine not having one!
