Free Cell Phones

These days millions of people live in poverty unable to afford basic life necessities. These people can barely make enough to pay for food, let alone anything else. In order to alleviate some of the strain for these people, the government has instilled many social programs.

One of these programs is the free cell phones program. Most people if not everyone uses a cell phone now. It can be especially useful if there were an emergency. It can truly save lives.

If you believe you need a free cell phone, first thing you have to do is contact the free cell phone provider and find out if you qualify. Qualification is based on your income. If you are a recipient of other government programs, then you are a candidate for a free phone.

Although the phone is free, there is a limit imposed on the minutes that can be used for free. Depending on the state in which you live in, the amount of minutes that you can use for free is around an hour each month.

The cell phones may not always be free either. Once you and your family are not in the poverty bracket anymore, then you cannot use the cell phones for free. The cell phone company has to check your income every year.

To get free mobile phones, you have to find a mobile phone provider that has this program. Many states may not have this program yet since it is fairly new.

Fill out the necessary applications for a free cell phone. You will need to provide pay stubs, W2s, or documentation showing that you are a recipient of other government program benefits, to show that you qualify for a phone. You have to show this information each year before you sign their contract.

Do not use up all your free minutes so quickly each month. Make sure you have enough to last the entire month. This means making only absolutely necessary calls. You can use the phone to check up how many minutes you have used thus far.
