Friday, July 31st, 2009

Most people, who are looking at purchasing GPS devices, have discovered the pleasure of finding that the GPS models available for purchase are similar to each other. The similarities are present because many of the different devices use the same technology. However, even with the same technology, it can be applied in different ways. GPS can be placed in cell phones, in watches or can be used as handheld portables. You can use them to keep track of your children, keep track of your vehicle or plan your route in the car.

People Search By Phone Number Look Up

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

There are a myriad of ways to find a person by cell phone number in this day and age. The first thing to keep in mind when it comes to trying to find that person is that cell phone networks and the way in which these phones work isn’t the same as the way traditional land line telephones work. Normally, cell phones don’t display typical caller ID data, like a name or state or city.

Ring Tones . Enough Already

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

A sudden cacophony of 4 different mobile phones starting to ring within seconds of each other inside an elevator of a 30 storey building. And 4 different ring tones . a religious shloka, the latest bit of rap, a baby screaming and a Carpenter’s hit. I don’t know whether to laugh or scream (mine wasn’t one of the ones ringing!).

I Believe in Musical Ring Tones

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

Who doesn’t love a favourite tune bringing back memories of school, college, the first date, first love? And the most convenient way to remember that moment or period would be to download the ring tone of a song associated with that time. Of course there could be situations where someone else’s ring tone could bring back memories of the most horrendous situations that one would very strongly want to forget! With the number of cell phone users forever on the rise, it is only to be expected that both these opposing kinds of situations will be faced by most of us. These tunes have a similar effect to the power of an odour or perfume, which, whether good or bad, when I close my eyes brings back vivid pictures of an incident in my life.

For Whom The Ring Tones Toll

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

I am fascinated by ring tones. I spend an (supposedly) unhealthy amount of time and money listening to and downloading the latest tunes; guess it has something to my being extremely hyperactive as a child. Wonder where all that hyperactivity disappears to when my normal work is involved? I have a circle of friends who are in the same boat as I am and it seems to be getting to be an addiction! Our tastes go all the way from classical western and Indian tunes, operatic compilations to the latest form of pop, rock, metal, hip-hop, ghazals, bollywood hits (and not-so-hits) and even French, African and Latin songs. Aficionados, what?

Ring Tones – Yeh Dil Maange More

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

The words in the Pepsi advertisement jingle compiled for the Indian audience, literally translating to “the heart wants more” and most everyone’s craze for new and varied ring tones are a perfect match. With the number of cell phone connections sky rocketing in India and the rest of the world, this is one craze that has very little chance of ebbing away. Not that I am one to complain, especially if the tune is one of Kishore Kumar’s evergreen melodies! But I’d draw the line at some of the more bizarre tunes or so called tunes, like a baby crying or the sound of a ‘fart’ that some individuals insist on assaulting our eardrums with.
